What is Agentic AI?
Agentic AI is artificial intelligence that does work rather than just answering questions: software agents that read information from business systems, take bounded actions — drafting a reply, filing a document, flagging an anomaly — and hand anything unusual to a person instead of guessing.
The difference between a chatbot and an agent is action. A chatbot tells you what it thinks; an agent reads the overnight inbox, drafts the six replies, files the invoices, and leaves the odd one out flagged for a human.
Done safely, agentic AI keeps people in charge of consequences: agents draft, humans send. Customer-facing mistakes are the expensive kind, so nothing should reach a customer without sign-off — a principle that ought to be built in, not configured.
For a small business, the practical wins are unglamorous and immediate: repeat questions answered from your own documents, orders chased automatically, reports that compile themselves. Roughly a shift’s worth of admin, done silently — which is where the name SilentShift comes from.
The service: SilentShift does this work — AI agentic integration, from £2,500.
Rather just ask a person?
Half an hour, about six questions, and an honest answer — jargon-free either way.
